Ready Player Run! Exploitation Content in Virt-A-Mate
Ready Player Run! – Exploitation Content in Virt-A-Mate is the latest installment in ClickSafe Intelligence's research series examining virtual reality platforms and their intersection with child predation. This report expands the scope of the series to an adults-only VR environment, Virt-A-Mate, a sandbox-style VR sex simulator that supports extensive user-generated content including custom character models, scenes, and assets.
Drawing on platform testing, open-source research, and dark web monitoring, this publication documents how Virt-A-Mate is being used to create, modify, and distribute virtual child sexual abuse material (vCSAM). Findings include the identification of over 2,000 Virt-A-Mate related downloads on a single vCSAM-focused forum, more than 1,000 mentions of the platform across dark web child exploitation communities, and a tested workflow demonstrating that exploitative assets can be integrated into the software in under ten minutes.
The report is intended to inform child safety professionals, investigators, platform developers, trust & safety teams, and policymakers about the evolving risks posed by highly customizable VR environments and the communities that repurpose them.
